These courses are ideal for preparing your child for the upcoming school year, or for giving them a review of subjects they need to master.

  Eng 1A
English, grades 1-2
    In this class, students will focus on phonics and basic reading skills. They will also study the fundamentals of grammar, sentence construction, and spelling. Students will gain a higher level of skill and confidence with English. It is our goal to inspire in your child a greater enjoyment of reading and writing.

  Eng 1B
English, grades 3-5
    Students grades 3-5 will concentrate on reading comprehension, gaining a more detailed and deeper understanding of what they read. They will also practice spelling, vocabulary, grammar, and begin to write compositions. Your child will learn how to structure his/her writing, expressing themselves more effectively.

  Eng 1C
English, grades 6-8
    In this class, students will learn to examine different aspects of their reading, analyzing texts more fully. They will also learn to form different types of essays, identifying their purpose and supporting it logically. Students will work with the writing process (pre-writing, rough draft, revising, editing, final draft) as well as expand their vocabulary and fine-tune their grammar.

  Math 1A
Math, grades 1-2
    Children in this class will learn how to deal with numbers and math that they encounter in their everyday lives. They will practice reading and comparing time, counting money, and using the calendar. This class will use lessons from Steck-Vaughn's math workbooks.

  Math 1B
Math, grades 3-5
    Using lessons from Steck-Vaughn’s workbooks, students grades 3-5 will learn to understand and solve word problems. They will also study basic geometry, such as finding and adding angles in various shapes, solid figures, nets, and symmetry. Children in this class will learn about data, statistics, and probability, as well.

  Math 1C
Pre-Algebra
    This class will prepare students for algebra, introducing them to solving equations and inequalities, functions and graphing, ratios, statistics and probability, applying algebra to geometry, and polynomials. This class will use Glencoe’s Pre-Algebra textbook.
